HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER ANNOUNCES EXCLUSIVE
U.S. REPRESENTATION OF ALBERT WATSON

Born and raised in Edinburgh, Scotland, Albert Watson studied film and television at the Royal College of Art in London before he moved to the United States to launch a career in photography in 1970. Over the span of his prolific career, Watson has expanded the possibilities for artistic, commercial and fashion photography. Photo District News named Albert Watson one of the twenty most influential photographers based on a readers’ poll. Watson has also received a Lucie Award for lifetime achievement in photography, a Grammy Award for the cover of the Mason Profitt album, Come and Gone (1975), and three ANDY Awards for creativity in advertising. In an exhibition scheduled for Fall 2010, HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER will present photographs by Albert Watson coinciding with the publication of two new books of his work.



ERWIN OLAF: HOTEL & DUSK/DAWN ENDS ON SATURDAY, MARCH 20, 2010
The exhibition of the series Hotel, Dusk and Dawn by Erwin Olaf at Hasted Hunt Kraeutler ends on Saturday, March 20, 2010. The next exhibition at the gallery will be Great Photographs of the 20th Century: Staged and Startled, an exhibition of iconic photographs of the past 100 years, starting Thursday, March 25, 2010.



MARTIN SCHOELLER NAMED IN TOP 10 PHOTOS OF 2009 BY NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC
One of Martin Schoeller's photographs of the Hazda for National Geographic Magazine was named in the top 10 photographs of 2009 on a Public Broadcasting program airing on March 7, 2010.

Martin Schoeller, who typically shoots portraits of celebrities like Britney Spears and Angelina Jolie, photographed the Hadza, a vanishing culture in Tanzania. He shipped a complete studio to the African bush with lights and generators to capture this series of intimate, searing portraits.



EDWARD BURTYNSKY: Min(d)ing the Landscape is currently on view at the Berman Museum of Art at Ursinus College, Collegeville, Pennsylvania until April 11, 2010.



W.M. HUNT has organized "RE: groups - American Photographs Before 1950" for the Houston Center for Photography, which opens on March 15 and runs through June. He will also be a portfolio reviewer at Fotofest in Houston from March 12 - March 15, 2010.



JEAN-PAUL GOUDE is a judge for the Hearst 8 x 10 Biennial Competition. Eight winners will be selected this summer and an exhibition of their work will open on January 11, 2011 at Alexey Brodovitch Gallery and the Hearst Gallery at Hearst Tower in New York City.

ERWIN OLAF: Hotel & Dawn/Dusk opened with a reception for the artist at HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER on January 28, 2010. It will run until March 20.



Just as PAOLO VENTURA: Winter Stories closed at HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER, Paolo's new group show, The Silent Village, opened at Ffotogallery in Penarth, Wales on January 16, 2010.



There will be a screening of EDWARD BURTYNSKY's Manufactured Landscapes, a film by Jennifer Baichwal, at the Raleigh Urban Design Center, Raleigh, North Carolina, on Wednesday, February 10 at 7:30pm.
The new Art Gallery of Alberta (AGA) in Edmonton, designed by Randall Stout, FIA, opens with the exhibition Building Art: Photographs of the Building of the AGA, 2008-2010, by EDWARD BURTYNSKY on January 31, 2010. www.youraga.ca.



WM HUNT is one the judges for the World Photo Awards sponsored by SONY. He is the chairman of the fine art division. Winners for 2010 will be announced in Cannes in April. Hunt is organizing "RE: Groups - American Photographs before 1950" for The Houston Center for Photography. It opens on March 12, 2010.

ERWIN OLAF FEATURED IN "DUTCH SEEN" AT THE MUSEUM OF THE CITY OF NEW YORK
Erwin Olaf was invited to create a body of work entitled Dusk to be included in The Museum of the City of New York’s Dutch Seen: New York Rediscovered exhibition. Guest curated by Kathy Ryan, the Photo Editor of The New York Times Magazine, this exhibition marks the 400th anniversary of the Dutch arrival in Manhattan and features the work of 13 leading contemporary Dutch artists. NEW MONOGRAPH BY PAOLO VENTURA TO BE RELEASED BY APERTURE
In October, Aperture will release the highly anticipated monograph by Paolo Ventura entitled Winter Stories with text by Eugenia Parry. Printed in a limited edition of 2000 with 25 collectors edition’s containing a unique pen-and-ink drawing by the artist and an 11 x 14 inch print from Winter Stories, this book showcases the 65 full color images from Paolo Ventura’s series.

ANDREAS GEFELLER TO EXHIBIT AT JERUSALEM MUSEUM
Museum on The Seam, Jerusalem will be exhibiting a group show, "Nature and Nation," which will include photographs by ANDREAS GEFELLER, alongisde work by Andreas Gursky, Edward Burtinsky, Massimo Vitali and Sebastiao Salgado among others. PAOLO VENTURA TO HAVE SOLO EXHIBITION AT THE HAGUE
"The Hague Museum of Photography" in Holland will be exhibiting work by PAOLO VENTURA this year from April 25th to August 30th. Ventura's new monograph published by Aperture, "Winter Stories," is set to be released this fall of 2009.



DOCUMENTARY ON THE WORK OF MICHAEL FLOMEN TO DEBUT AT CANADIAN FILM FESTIVAL
A 27 minute documentary on the Montréal artist MICHAEL FLOMEN, produced by UMA, will debut at the International Festival of Films On Art [FIFA]. "Under the Cover of Darkness: The Work of Michael Flomen," nominated for the ARTV's People's Choice Award, is shot in infrared and follows the artist as he creates his work at outside at night. There will be a press screening on Tuesday 3/24 at 10 am at Cinémathèque Québecoise in Montréal, Québec, and the film will premiere to the public on Thursday 3/26 at 9PM at Cinéma ONF.



MICHAEL THOMPSON INCLUDED IN "WEIRD BEAUTY" AT THE INTERNATIONAL CENTER OF PHOTOGRAPHY
MICHAEL THOMPSON'S photography has been included in the exhibition, "Weird Beauty: Fashion Photography Now" at the International Center of Photography, which runs through May 3rd of this year. This exhibition, curated by Carol Squiers and Vince Aletti, presents the most innovative fashion photography of the last few years, featuring hundreds of tear sheets and magazine covers from both mainstream and independent publications. Michael Thompson's photographs are included alongside work by Steven Meisel, Cindy Sherman, Mario Sorrenti, Nick Knight, Steven Klein, Miles Aldridge, Paolo Roversi, & Sølve Sundsbø.



THE APERTURE FOUNDATION DEBUT'S UNIQUE GELATIN SILVER PHOTOGRAM FROM NEW SERIES BY MICHAEL FLOMEN
Aperture will exhibit "FEEDER," a 48" x 96" unique gelatin silver photogram from MICHAEL FLOMEN'S new series, "Littoral Zone." This will be the first time work from his new series is exhibited in the United States. This piece and other works have been included in a new Aperture book by Lyle Rexer, entitled "The Edge of Vision, The Rise of Abstraction in Photography," published by Aperture.



LYNNE COHEN TO RELEASE NEW MONOGRAPH IN CONJUNCTION WITH RETROSPECTIVE EXHIBITION
There will be a retrospective exhibition of LYNNE COHEN's photographs at Le Point duJour Centre d'art from June 27th through September 20th of this year. The retrospective exhibition, entitled "Cover," will accompany Cohen's brand new monograph of color photographs of the same title. Prior to this, Lynne Cohen will be featured in the annual CONTACT Photography Festival, and groups shows in Ontario and Mexico City this year.



Julian Faulhaber's "Lowdensitypolyethylene," which debuts at HASTED HUNT KRAEUTLER from October 30 - December 20th, 2008, has been recently acquired by New York City's Metropolitan Museum of Art. The work will be featured in an upcoming exhibition at the museum, entitled "Reality Check: Truth and Illusion in Contemporary Photography," which surveys the ways in which artists exploit illusionism in photography. Among the works featured are photographs of staged scenarios and constructed environments that appear to be real, as well as real scenes or landscapes that appear strangely artificial. The exhibition will run from November 4, 2008, through March 22, 2009 and will include work by photographers such as Thomas Demand, Gregory Crewdson and Vik Muniz, among others.



ERWIN OLAF NOMINATED FOR 2009 DEUTSCHE BORSE PRIZE

Erwin Olaf has been nominated for the 2009 Deutsche Borse Prize, an award presented annually to a living photographer who has made the most significant contribution to the medium of photography in Europe over the past year. The winner will receive £30,000 and a traveling exhibition in 2009.



ERWIN OLAF SOLO EXHIBITION AT THE HAGUE IN THE NETHERLANDS

The Hague Photo Museum in The Netherlands will curate a solo exhibition of work by Erwin Olaf, featuring work from his last three series, RAIN, HOPE & GRIEF and his latest series "Fall." The exhibition will run from September 27 - January 11, 2009

Martin Schoeller's "Close Up" photographs will be included in a six-person group exhibition at the National Portrait Gallery, Smithsonian Institution, in Washington, DC. "Portraiture Now: Feature Photography" runs through December 4, 2008 through May 10, 2009 and will feature Schoeller's work alongside Katy Grannan, Jocelyn Lee, Ryan McGinley, Steve Pyke and Alec Soth.
